Getting Started with the Tag ID Application

Getting Started with the Tag ID Application

Introduction:
Welcome to the tutorial on how to set up the Tag ID application. This tutorial will guide you through getting started with the app and setting up your digital identity. Let’s begin!

Step 0: Download the Application:

  1. Apple App Store: https://apps.apple.com/se/app/trust-anchor-id/id1580610247?l=en-GB
  2. Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tag.IdApp
Note: If you are a Developer, contact us to access Tesflight or Play store developer mode at https://lab.tagroot.io/Feedback.md .

Step 1: Select the Purpose of Use & Contact Information:

  1. Open the Tag ID application and navigate to the starting page.
  2. Choose the application’s purpose (work, personal, educational, or experimental).
  3. Provide your email address and phone number for verification purposes.
  4. Click “Send Code” to receive verification codes on your email and phone number.
  5. Enter the verification codes in the corresponding fields and click “Verify Code.”
  6. Once both codes are verified, you will be redirected to the next step.
Note: For security purposes, please ensure you enter the verification codes accurately. Multiple unsuccessful attempts may result in temporary or permanent blocking of your account creation process.

Step 2: Create Account:

  1. You will now be prompted to choose an account.
  2. By default, a service provider that suits your needs will be selected.
  3. To create an account with the preselected service provider, enter the desired account name and click “Create Account.”
  4. Alternatively, you can scan a QR code invitation to use an account that has already been prepared for you OR to change service providers.
  5. After creating an account or scanning an invitation, you will be redirected to the next step.

Step 3: Personal & Legal Information:

  1. In this step, we will gather the necessary personal and legal information to assign an identity to your Account.
  2. Fill in the required information accurately, and ensure your profile picture corresponds to the given identity.
  3. Note that this information will only be shared when you choose to.
  4. Click “Register” to submit your application.

Step 4: Validating Information:

  1. Your application now needs to be validated before it can be approved. In this step, you can see the status of your application.
  2. Validation can be done manually by an operator or through peer review by already approved identities. It can also be approved automatically, depending on the service provider.
  3. Peer review process:
    • To invite a peer for review, scan the QR code corresponding to their ID.
    • Peers will review and certify the accuracy of your information.
    • The operator will automatically approve the application once it receives sufficient peer reviews.
  4. The status of your application will change to “approved” once the process is complete.
Note: On each Neuron, the operator can approve certain individuals as featured peer reviewers. These individuals will be pre-selected and appear as suggested peer reviewers. Instead of scanning their QR code, you can simply select them to send a review request. However, you can still invite any peer with an approved ID by scanning their QR code.

Step 5: Set Up Complete:

  1. Congratulations! Your application has been approved.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Continue” to proceed.
  3. In the next step, you can add a PIN or password to protect your wallet and sensitive information.
  4. This PIN will be required when opening the application or performing sensitive actions.
  5. You have now successfully set up the Tag ID application!
Note: The PIN you set is local and not sent anywhere. It is used to protect a much stronger network password that is randomly generated. Changing the PIN will also change the network password.

Conclusion:
Thank you for completing the tutorial on setting up the Tag ID application. You are now ready to use your digital identity within the intended context. Please leave a comment if you have any further questions or need assistance. See you in the next tutorial!

For Developers

For all tutorials from here, I assume you have access to the Neuron where you wish to manage/test/lab with Identities and Accounts.

API keys

In order to create an account or identity on desired Neuron, you will need to have an API Key. To create one, go to the Admin dashboard and then to API Keys

API Keys

To manage an existing API Key, click on the link in the column “key”

API Keys List
API Keys List

From the API Key detail page, you can access information such as API Key Secret and Key attributes. From here, you can also create a QR code for that API Key that will, for instance, allow TAG ID users to connect to the service provider (Neuron) where the Key is hosted:

Further, If you wish to connect to an existing account (with TAG ID), you can see the accounts created on a specific API Key. You do that by clicking on the number of account (See below)

API Keys Accounts
API Keys Accounts

From there, you will get a list of accounts created on that specific API Key. If you select one account from the list, you are then able to see information about the specific account and also able to create a QR code invitation for that specific account.

Manual approval of Identity

For testing and developing purposes, you will need to be able to approve identities. Go to the Admin dashboard of the specific Neuron (“neuron-domain”/Admin.md). Scroll down to Notarius Electronics and click on Pending Identity Applications, as shown in the picture below.

Pending Identity Applications

Yow will get a list of pending applications. Approve the one you wish to approve from the list.
